Adelardo Parrilla Candela

(Spanish , b. 1877 - 1953 )

Born in Cartagena in 1876, but his family soon moved to Alicante. He began his undergraduate studies in Seville. On his return to Alicante, became a pupil of Lorenzo Casanova. Provincial Exhibition in 1894, gets a medal. After expanding his training at the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando, moved to Paris and traveled in Central Europe. In 1917 he held a solo exhibition, with more than 70 works in Alicante. In 1918, he participated in the Exhibition Hall of Painting and Sculpture of the Fine Arts of Alicante. In 1919, he became a member on the board of the Center for Writers and Artists. In 1920, along with Santonja Buforn Lopez Varela Thomas and exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in Zaragoza. In 1923 he presented in the Fine Arts works then went to New York. Exquisite bodeguista, he also painted portraits, landscapes and compositions. Abundant production, both in private collections Alicante, as Spain and abroad, are of particular interest paiasjes framing their figures, where his interest in light and color variations of the Levantine nature is appreciated.
